    Pierce County Roofers Virtual Hiring Event – May 11th

    Pierce County Roofers is looking for Roofers Apprentices!  This organization trains, and places Roofers Apprentices with different contractors where an individual will apprentice with them.  They also simultaneously start a training program through Clover Park, that trains them on the basics of roofing. This is there to help a person succeed in their apprenticeship and allows the person the ability to get to a journeyman level.

    Remember, Apprentices are paid a starting pay of $22.53 an hour.  Pay is bumped up every thousand hours until an individual is paid as a journeyman.  This is living wage pay, that can allow individuals the ability to live a high quality of life. 

    Also: entry into the apprenticeship program will result in union membership with the Roofers Local 153.

    Minimum Entry Requirements

    • 18 and older
    • Minimum of 10th grade education
    • This is a low barrier to entry, program!

    Seafarer’s International Union Virtual Hiring Event – January 21st

    The Seafarers have been giving Washington State residents a living wage for decades.   After training/apprenticeship, pay is at a living wage (normally starting at $5,500 a month or more, depending on the job you will be sent out too).  Career Advancement is easy with the Seafarers, and applicants get benefits/retirement.

    They are currently recruiting for new apprentices/workers and will be holding a two-part (session) event on January 21st to do that.  One, recruiting for Cooks (Stewart’s Department) at 1 PM.  The other, for Deck Hands (Able Seamen) at 2 PM.

    What Positions are They Recruiting For?

    • Deck Hands

    Once again, come at 1 PM if you are interested in Cook opportunities, and 2 PM if you are interested in Able Seamen opportunities.

    The Laborers Union are one of the most impactful unions in Washington State.  Many of the large-scale construction projects in the state are staffed by them, and they are integral to the construction of the most important infrastructure in this region.  They will be doing a presentation virtually on how you can join the laborers.  Please attend if you are interested in finding out how to prepare for a living wage career with the Laborers.
