    Pierce Transit is now recruiting for multiple positions to work throughout the Pierce County area.

    Pierce Transit has been providing transit service to the local community since 1980. Between the fixed routes (bus), paratransit (shuttle) and vanpools, they currently provide transit services to 292 square miles of Pierce County.  Pierce Transit’s mission is to improve people’s quality of life by providing safe, reliable, innovative, and useful transportation services that are locally based and regionally connected.

    Pierce County District Court Resource Center Employer of the Month: Laborers International Union of North America

    The Laborers Union are one of the most impactful unions in Washington State.  Many of the large-scale construction projects in the state are staffed by them, and they are integral to the construction of the most important infrastructure in this region.  They will be doing a presentation virtually on how you can join the laborers.  Please attend if you are interested in finding out how to prepare for a living wage career with the Laborers.

    Concrete Technology Corporation is now recruiting for Entry-Level General Laborers at manufacturing plant in Tacoma. CTC is the world’s pioneer in the manufacturing of prestressed concrete.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Flexible safety-minded, physical hardworking
    • Full-time (40/hrs. + overtime), year-round
    • Union position
    • Allows for growth by developing existing skills and acquiring new skills
    • Free training opportunities and promotion from within

    Requirements

    • A High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
    • Able to lift 50lbs frequently and up to 70lbs occasionally.
    • Able to walk, stand, bend, stoop and reach regularly and repetitively.
    • Able to read a tape measure and identify uses of common hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, etc.)
    • Work a variable schedule (Start times vary between midnight and 6 PM, with an average start time around 4 AM.)
    • Punctual. Be at work on time every day.
    • Join the Laborers’ Union, Local 252.
    • Pass a standard drug test and a background check

     

    Wages: start at $17.00/hour, with increase to $17.60 after passing probationary period. Additional benefits are included upon eligibility.
