    Part-time Financial Services Administrative Assistant

    Agnus Dei Lutheran Church is seeking a qualified individual to perform financial and other administrative duties that support the ongoing mission and operations of our church. This is a part-time position and is supervised by the Pastor. The Financial Services Administrative Assistant will also work closely with the Treasurer and Finance and Personnel Committees of Agnus Dei Lutheran Church.

    This is a part-time, non-exempt position, with responsibilities averaging 20 hours per week. A weekly schedule will be finalized between the person hired and the Pastor.

    Responsibilities:

    • Performing all bookkeeping tasks that support the ongoing work of the church, such as tracking and categorizing all income and expenditures in the church’s financial software, processing all bills received, and tracking/managing receivables and payables.
    • Preparing reconciliations for all church accounts each month for review by the Church Treasurer, along with reports to allow tracking and analysis of income and expenditures in relation to the operating budget and other designated accounts.
    • Working with and providing information to the Church Treasurer and Finance Committee each month to support their work, as well as information needed for reports to the Church Council, congregation and the national ELCA1 on a periodic basis.
    • Processing monthly payroll and reports and communicating with the payroll services contractor to assure timely and accurate completion of all responsibilities and accurate record-keeping.
    • Maintaining Personnel financial records and providing reports for the Personnel Committee and Council on a regularly scheduled basis, while incorporating sensitivity and assuring security of confidential and personal records and information.
    • Maintaining records of all contracts and other binding agreements involving Agnus Dei Lutheran Church and coordinating revisions/renewals of those agreements when necessary.
    • Reviewing changes to state and federal laws and regulations that may require updating of financial and personnel policies and providing this information to the Finance and Personnel Committees when necessary.
    • Working with other church staff and provide additional administrative support as needed.

    Requirements:

    • Associate degree preferred
    • Minimum of three years’ experience performing similar functions
    • Knowledge of Quickbooks or similar accounting software, as well as MS Excel and Word
    • Good organizational and time management skills
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Wage & Benefits:

    • $27 – $28/hour
