DSHS ESA Support Enforcement Technician

Economic Services Administration (ESA), Division of Child Support (DCS) is looking to fill the Support Enforcement Technician position within the DCS office located in Tacoma WA.

As a Support Enforcement Technician, you will perform multiple technical duties in a fast-paced environment. This position provides customer service via telephone, computer, and correspondence with internal and external stakeholders including clients paying support, clients receiving support, office staff, employers, and the public.

This position requires maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with state and federal statutes and regulations. It requires the ability to perform extensive clerical duties as well as customer service functions.

This is an office position in Tacoma WA where you would work Monday-Friday from 8 am-5 pm.

Some of what you will do:

  • Provide excellent customer service in person and over the telephone with a diverse clientele, co-workers, and the general public
  • Positively contribute to a diverse and effective team environment
  • Multitask and switch priorities with little notice in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment
  • Accept, receive and process in-person and mail payments, ensuring appropriate application to cases
  • Answer and respond to high volumes of telephone calls, while multi-tasking other duties
  • Complete large quantities of client mail with precise accuracy and in a timely manner
  • Route outgoing legal documents as directed, to employers, non-custodial and custodial individuals
  • Assist support enforcement staff in compiling, screening, researching, and verifying information
  • Document client communications and other documents accurately into automated computer systems
  • Process applications received for support and/or medical enforcement services
  • Access a variety of confidential databases; adding, updating, and maintaining confidential client information
  • Categorize and image documents for electronic retention
