Onyx S.

Onyx came to the WorkSource Pierce Center in Tacoma looking for assistance with finding quality employment. She had been dealing with multiple barriers and hoped the services offered at WorkSource Pierce would help.

She worked with a Career Advisor who enrolled her in a WorkSource program that connected her to training to get a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). She completed the training course and obtained a Class A CDL.

With the CDL-A in hand, Onyx was able to gain employment as a Hostler Driver, earning $24 an hour. This new job made it possible for Onyx to move into a new home.
