The Exchange is just about to celebrate 126 years- since 1895. Our stores have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has always remained the same and that is our commitment to serving our customers. We provide tax free shopping to active duty military, retired military and 100% disabled veterans as well as their spouses and eligible dependents.
The Exchange is not just a unique retailer, but also a unique government agency, called a non-appropriated fund instrumentality. This means that we do not take tax payer funding to operate our Exchanges. We pay our own way and provide a dividend to the military community for their use. These programs fund facilities like bowling alleys, gyms and movie theaters to improve the lives of the military family on base.
