About Us: Trini Plate, founded by Abby, is a Tacoma-based Caribbean food venture inspired by her Trinidadian roots and a deep family tradition of cooking and baking. Abby’s passion for sharing the vibrant flavors of Trinidad and Tobago stems from her late mother, Gail, who taught her to bake with love and perseverance. Trini Plate brings the rich, multi-cultural cuisine of the Caribbean to the community, with exciting plans for pop-ups, a cookbook, and a future bakery and restaurant. • How to work in a commercial kitchen, including:
• How to use and operate commercial kitchen equipment (mixers, dough sheeter, food processor, dishwasher)
• Basic knife skills including knife safety and knife cuts (e.g., dice, mince, julienne, brunoise)
• Food safety training
• Kitchen safety training
• Cooking, including fruit and vegetable prep, meat and poultry prep, and different cooking techniques
  Baking and working with pastry/dough

Tools, Equipment, Clothing/Uniforms, or Other Items Required for this Position:

• Aprons, gloves, and any tools and equipment needed to carry out these tasks will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school graduate
• Driver’s license
