I.   OBJECTIVE 

  • The IT Support Technician intern will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer of the East West Consulting Group, a group a Veteran-owned entrepreneurial businesses. Primary duties will be to provide technical support to companies within the East West Consulting Group International, a Veteran owned management company headquartered in Tacoma, WA. Secondary duties will be to support the growth and development of several other small companies to include Destiny Technologies International, a non-profit tech business that supports Veterans, families and youth and local communities, East West Security & Consulting, Northwest Overwatch, Aloha Pacific Security, and growth of business in other regions.

II.   POSITION OVERVIEW

  • We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented IT Support Technician for an internship within our team, providing technical support throughout several companies within the East West Consulting Group. As an IT Support Technician, you will be a key player in maintaining the company’s computer systems and networks, configuring software, maintaining website and other cloud based systems and providing technical support to employees and management. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and impeccable attention to detail.

III.   PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This internship may include technical support activities in any of the following areas:

  • Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
  • Respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests.
  • Provide technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone or Teams).
  • Set up accounts for new users.
  • Repair and replace equipment as necessary.
  • Test new technology and provide feedback.
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
  • Provide guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
  • Maintain websites and other cloud based software systems.
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work.
  • Document internal procedures and maintain records of repairs and fixes.

IV.   PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven education and/or experience as an IT Technician or relevant position.
  • In-depth understanding of computer systems, networks, and various operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux).
  • Familiarity with electronic equipment, internet applications, and security.
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficient with Microsoft and other cloud based applications and servers.
  • Experience building and maintaining WordPress websites.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and pass a background check.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
