Internship Position Overview
This internship offers hands-on experience supporting youth programs, community events, and digital learning experiences. Interns will work closely with staff, volunteers, and local partners to help run workshops, lead group activities, and create a welcoming space for youth and families.
You’ll develop communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills while building real-world experience in outreach, facilitation, and tech-supported programming.
Intern Opportunity Details
- Wage: $16.66 – $30.00/hour
- Hours Per Week: Up to 20
- Internship Length: 120 – 320 hours
- Location: In-person at community program sites
- Minimum Age Requirement: 16
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and engage with community members and youth in a welcoming, supportive manner
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of workshops, tech labs, and events
- Help plan and organize youth activities and creative learning sessions
- Lead or support small group activities under staff supervision
- Communicate with staff, families, and partners in a professional, respectful tone
- Track attendance, help with simple recordkeeping, and share program updates
- Assist youth in navigating technology tools (VR, digital storytelling, robotics, etc.)

Program Support
- Coordinating logistics and organizing materials
- Helping programs run smoothly from start to finish
- Maintaining spaces for safety, flow, and learning
Communication & Leadership
- Public speaking and leading group activities
- Writing updates, reminders, and basic documentation
- Practicing professionalism and teamwork in dynamic settings
Technology & Learning (if supporting tech-based programs)
- Assisting with virtual reality, robotics, or digital storytelling tools
- Learning new platforms alongside youth participants
- Supporting tech engagement in creative programming
Tools/Equipment/Supplies Required
- All required equipment will be provided
- If you have a personal laptop and can bring it, that is appreciated (not required)
- Program-appropriate, comfortable attire (business casual or site-specific)
Requirements
- Must be able to commit to scheduled program hours, including after-school sessions
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual
- Willing to work in-person at designated program sites
- Able to collaborate with a team and communicate respectfully
- A background check may be required (depending on program/site)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in community service, youth work, or volunteer coordination
- Interest in technology, digital media, or creative education
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Comfortable using tools like Google Suite, Zoom, or Canva
- Passion for serving underrepresented youth and building inclusive spaces
