    DSHS’s Facilities, Finance, and Analytics Administration (FFA) has created a new Painter Apprenticeship program to help build our future maintenance workforce. This program is approved and recognized by L&IWFSEWSATCCITC, and our journey-level employees working at our Buckley care facility: Rainier School Residential Habilitation Center. Upon successful completion of an intensive 36-month on-the-job training program and classroom education with CITC, you will have achieved journey-level scale as a Painter.

    Work shifts during core curriculum training are dayshift Tuesday through Friday.

    We will be hiring 2 painter apprentices.  Free ORCA cards are available for Pierce County employees.

    BlackHawk Lighting Solutions provides electrical services and LED upgrades in the Puget Sound area. The LED light industry is exploding right now and we want to grow to take advantage of that. We are currently hiring two 01 Journeyman Electricians to help us take advantage of the emerging LED market. It’s not a question of “if” businesses are going to convert to LED, it’s a question of “when” they are going to upgrade to LED. We need leaders that see the big picture and want to be more than just a number or a cog in the wheel.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Leadership:  
      • Motivate and lead your team with a Can-Do attitude
      • Use your leadership skills to train and build your crew
      • Facilitate communication with staff to create a plan for installing equipment
      • Lineout each team member with tasks that take advantage of their skill set.
    • Install: 
      • Identify circuits/panel feed and install LOTO
      • Verify that voltage and fixtures are compatible
      • Remove existing lighting and install new LED fixtures
      • May run new branch circuits to put in additional lighting
    • Customer service: 
      • Communicate with client and keep them abreast of the job progress
      • Resolve any customer disputes and follow up as needed
      • Establish timeline for completion with client and keep them abreast of job progress

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Valid 01 commercial certification
    • Current driver license and clean driving record
    • Basic hand tools
    • High emphasis on hygiene and personal grooming
    • May be subject to random drug screening and background check
    • Willing to work overtime, weekends and some nights

    WAGES & SCHEDULE:

    • $100,000 to $120,000 per year plus benefits
    • Profit sharing plan available
    • Company vehicle for key employees

    • Install: 
      • Remove existing lighting and install new LED fixtures

      • Maintain the cleanliness of the work van and job site
    • Inventory & organize tools, supplies and maintain the needed products on hand

     

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Valid trainee certificate from the Department of Labor & Industries is preferred
    • Current driver license and clean driving record
    • Basic hand tools
    • High emphasis on hygiene and personal grooming
    • May be subject to random drug screening and background check
    • Great customer service
    • Willing to work overtime, weekends and some nights
