    Position: General Clerk 2

    SUMMARY:

    Under the supervision of the Nobis Enterprises Supervisor, and the project contract supervisor, the General Clerk 2 (GC2) is responsible for administrative support services and mailroom services for the GSA office. This position requires familiarity with the terminology of the office unit. The General Clerk selects appropriate methods from a wide variety of procedures or makes simple adaptations and interpretations of a limited number of substantive guides and manuals. The clerical steps often vary in type or sequence, depending on the task. Recognized problems are referred to others. This position will be responsible for all or some of the following essential job functions and responsibilities based on the individual contract office needs

    All candidates must meet the AbilityOne definition of a severe disability.  Once we identify candidates, we will need a signed disability diagnosis and their functional limitations from a MD, PhD or MSW/LCSW, or VR as well before moving forward.

    Pay & Benefits:

    $18.54 an hour plus Health and Welfare benefit that is paid to us as the employer to cover a the cost for medical, life insurance, AD&D and STD.

    Qualifications:

    • All personnel performing under this contract comply with agency and Department of Homeland Security policies and controls.
    • Mission driven, guided by core values and a pleasure to work with.
    • Must be able to obtain government security clearance prior to reporting to work.
    • Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
    • Must obey all Motor Vehicle traffic laws of state and local jurisdiction and Agency Motor Vehicle Fleet Policy.
    • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Must possess cooperative, welcoming business-like demeanor, and a positive attitude at all times.
    • Must be able to fluently communicate and write in English.
    • Must present a neat appearance.
    • Eligibility to work in the United States.

    Education:

    • High School, GED or equivalent work experience.

    Prior Experience Desirable:

    • Two to Three years’ experience in an office/mailroom and/or inventory control setting.

    We are seeking a person, for our Sumner Office,  with at least one year clerical support work that we can train to administer our construction contracts.

    The person we hire will have:

    • Excellent computer skills
    • An established record of experience or education
    • Close attention to detail and the ability to learn in a very high paced work environment.

    The job entails reading and processing construction contracts from General Contractors for the sub-contracting work we do for them.

    We are the state’s leading pavement marking company and in being so we are processing hundreds of work contracts per year.  These contracts can range from as low as $5,000 to $500,000 per contract.  The ability to read carefully and attend to the important details contained the each contract is very important.  You will learn how/where to look for our requirements in each contract.

    We are willing to train the right person; the work is busy and can be demanding but it is very learnable.
