The Department of Licensing is a team of nearly 1,300 people whose work ultimately makes a positive impact on public safety. We are the face of state government, as we serve nearly every Washingtonian, providing almost 6 million driver licenses and identification cards, registering over 7 million vehicles and vessels, and licensing over a quarter million professionals and businesses. We also partner with law enforcement, and many agencies and stakeholders who impact public safety.
We reside in 6 buildings in Olympia and Tumwater, and 56 Licensing Services Offices throughout the state. We have widely varied jobs. But we are brought together as one team by our common connection to the DOL mission, vision, values, and culture.
